Posada el Ensueño in Antigua Guatemala

"The Very Noble and Very Loyal City of Saint James of the knights of Guatemala" ,
founded in 1543
.

The first rays of morning light seep through my window. I throw it open and my senses are overwhelmed with the fresh air of ancestral aroma across town. As if playing hide-and-seek, I catch a glimpse, past the radiant fuchsia of the bougainvillaea outside my window, at Agua, the volcano which greets me on this new and beautiful awakening...To summarize what Antigua is would be like trying to narrate the Holy Bible in one paragraph. Impossible! One must breathe its mystical, magical air in order to experience the feelings it inspires. One must live her to love her.
Santiago de Guatemala, Ricky López Bruni.

Welcome

Far from the madding crowd and nestled between Santa Ana quarter and the hermitage of Santa Isable, Posada El Ensueño in Antigua Guatemala extends a welcome to all those seeking recreation and relaxation. On the one hand, its proximity to the colonial city of Antigua (15 minutes on foot), heritage of the Americas, offers visitors the opportunity to explore the colonial past of this ancient capital of the Kingdom of Guatemala, visiting its churches and becoming acquainted with its culinary and cultural spots. On the other, its privileged location and cozy atmosphere provide the pleasure of enjoying its tranquil ambience, whether it be by basking in the sun, swimming in the pool, or enjoying the garden and terrace.

Posada El Ensueño is located on the way to the imposing volcano of Agua, turning into Calle del Agua, then right onto Callejón de la Ermita. Its three suites are incorporated into an architectural complex - created, built, and decorated - by its owners, with precious native woods, sculpted stone, original tiles, all in Spanish colonial and Moresque detail. The walls are adorned with original works of art which decorate and animate the surroundings. The second-floor terrace shelters two cabanas, one, a mini-gym with a stationary bicycle and weight rack. The other, a small seating area, with sofa and comfortable chairs. Whatever the visitor's whim, this alternative complements the services available to complete a dreamy getaway.
